Aramón Guarantees Slopes with a 40 Million Investment in Technical Snow

The Aramón group has announced a historic investment of 40 million euros aimed at modernizing its snowmaking systems in its various ski resorts, a process that began last season but continues with the aim of gaining stability in the Aragonese valleys.

This plan, promoted by the support of the Government of Aragón through the Pyrénées Plan and FITE funds, aims to guarantee the stability of the Aragonese Pyrenees. Thanks to this investment, the station now boasts over 1,000 snow cannons installed, four snowfactories — three in Formigal and one in Javalambre — and three water storage ponds, ensuring a total of 80 kilometers of slopes.

The snowmaking plan is structured around three fundamental pillars: water efficiency, responsible resource management, and energy optimization. All this with the aim of preserving the environment and guaranteeing tourist activity in the mountain regions, which consolidate in winter thanks to skiing and increasingly diversify during the rest of the year.

In this context, Snowfactory technology is incorporated, allowing snow production even at temperatures above 0°C. Its contribution is twofold, as it protects lower altitudes and ensures season continuity during mild winters, while also reducing production peaks and improving water and energy usage. This operational stability translates into greater predictability for the destination, as well as the generation of economic activity and employment in the valleys where Aramón operates.

On Saturday, November 29, Formigal will celebrate the opening of Sextas with a concert by artist Juan Magán at the Marchica pub. The event will be free for season pass holders and residents, while the general public can purchase tickets through the official Aramón website.
