Arizona Snowbowl Returns with a Pop-Up Culinary Experience

The mountains of Arizona not only hold snowy slopes and endless trails, but also unexpected moments like the one to be experienced this September 28th at Arizona Snowbowl. In its second and final exclusive dinner of the year, the resort offers an experience that changes everything: five courses aboard a gondola at 3500 meters above sea level, surrounded by infinite forests and fiery skies.

The event is titled Elevated Embers & Ales and is much more than a dinner: it is a sunset ritual unfolding in three acts. The first scene begins on the elevated terrace of the Sky Bar with a welcome drink and the first course. From there, guests board the Arizona Gondola where the next three courses will be served, each during a 23-minute journey. The grand finale takes place under the stars, on the patio of the Agassiz Lodge, with a dessert that completes the circle of fire, altitude, and flavor.

Cajun and Beer Above the Forest

This time, the menu has been created by Satchmo’s BBQ, an essential Flagstaff establishment specializing in Cajun cuisine, and each dish has been carefully paired with craft beers from Mother Road Brewing Company. “Elevated Embers & Ales” thus proposes an unexpected fusion between low and high: the smoky flavors of the South ascend to the peaks to mingle with the freshness and texture of the mountainous forest.

Jamie Thousand, chef and heart of Satchmo’s, sums it up clearly: “Where else can you dine on good food while traversing the mountains in a gondola?”. For him, this event is the culmination of a collaboration that seeks to reinterpret cuisine from an unprecedented viewpoint. And he's not the first to experience it. In August, the resort already surprised with “Shift Your Viewpoint,” a dinner in collaboration with Shift Kitchen and Oeno Wine Lounge that set a very high bar.

Schedule: A Sunset with Flavor

• 3:30 PM – Arrival and check-in at the Sky Bar at Agassiz Lodge
• 4:00 PM – Welcome cocktail and first course on the terrace
• 4:45 PM – Boarding the gondola: three rides, three courses, three pairings
• After sunset – Final dessert and campfire on the lodge patio

With a capacity of four people per cabin and a price of $650 per experience, tickets for this last dinner of the year are as limited as they are exclusive. Tickets are available at snowbowl.ski.

A New Way to Savor the Mountain

Arizona Snowbowl has committed this season to making gastronomy a common thread between landscape and emotion. And it has worked. Following the success of these immersive experiences, the resort already announces its intention to continue and expand its high-altitude culinary program in 2026, combining local ingredients with impossible views.
