At adidas Fest Snow Edition, Snow is Another Terrain for Running

On August 23, the La Parva ski resort will momentarily set aside skis to make way for trail running. This will be during the adidas Fest Snow Edition 2025, an event that transforms snow into a playground and gathers teams, athletes, and mountain enthusiasts in an unusual environment for running.

The race will take place on a 3.5-kilometer circuit with a 350-meter positive elevation gain, at Base El Manzanito, at an altitude of over 2,600 meters. Each team will consist of three runners. The first will cover the entire route, the second will tackle an intermediate section of 1.3 kilometers, and the third will close with another full lap. The clock will stop only when the last runner crosses the finish line.

More than 30 teams have already registered for this edition. The race is not only a physical challenge but also demands coordination and terrain interpretation, especially in winter conditions. The organization has planned a preliminary technical talk to review safety measures and adaptations for running on snow.

Snow as the new trail scenario

"The goal is to take outdoor activities to another level," says Margarita Concha, Brand Marketing Manager at adidas. "The environment, climate, and type of terrain invite you to experience trail running from a different perspective," she adds.

Sofía Cofré, an athlete from the adidas Outdoor team and a prominent figure in Chilean trail running, will participate in this edition. For her, the challenge is clear: "Snow requires a different technique, a different approach. The interesting part is sharing it as a team outdoors, in the heart of the mountains."

Equipment for winter conditions

The race coincides with the launch of the Skychaser AX5 technical line, featuring Gore-Tex membrane and a Continental sole.

Shoes designed to offer traction and comfort on snow, rain, or asphalt, with a design that includes recycled materials.

The collection is complemented by waterproof jackets, cargo pants with UV protection, and water-repellent fabrics. Functional pieces that meet the demands of winter without losing focus on sustainability.
