Baqueira Beret for Easter: Spring Snow, Terraces, and Mountain Peaks

Spring is beginning to show, but at Baqueira Beret, winter remains very present. The resort is heading into Holy Week with over two meters of accumulated snow and more than 150 skiable kilometers, at a point in the season where the pace changes: longer days, more pleasant temperatures, and a different way of experiencing the mountains.

With a scheduled closing on April 6th, this final stretch is enjoyed at a slower pace, combining skiing, excellent views, and stops that are part of the plan.

Snow conditions and ski area

The snowfalls accumulated during winter, along with maintenance efforts, allow for a large open area. Depths range between 180 and 220 cm, with typical spring snow conditions.

The result is a wide, skiable, and accessible terrain, both for those seeking performance and for those prioritizing enjoying the surroundings.

Exploring Baqueira in spring

Entering via Beret early in the morning leads towards Blanhiblar, one of the most recommended spots to start the day. From the Costarjàs T-bar lift, at 2,338 meters, one can access slopes such as Parròs, Esmeligàs, Tuc deth Miei, and Pales deth Miei. Their east orientation means the snow transforms quickly, offering sunny descents from the first hour.

From Baqueira, the Argulls area offers a quieter alternative. Taking the Teso dera Mina chairlift, you access Costes de Ruda, Cabirol, and Teso dera Mina: three wide, flowing blue slopes, designed for pressure-free skiing with ample space.

In the same sector, the descents towards Bonaigua perform particularly well in the morning. From there, Peülla expands the terrain with mostly red and black runs.

For those seeking perspective, Cap de Baciver, at 2,610 meters, is the highest point of the resort. From here, a complete view of the north face unfolds, with the couloirs descending from Cap de Baqueira – from Escornacrabes to Pasarell – powerfully marking the relief.

From midday onwards, the orientations change the experience. The north face gains prominence, with slopes like Luis Arias maintaining better conditions as the day progresses.

In Beret, the Pàrrec Blanhiblar hosts one of the most characteristic spring scenes at the resort. Its tent and sun terrace, facing southeast, offer views towards Baqueira, Beret, and Baciver. The experience is complemented by offerings such as Iberian acorn-fed ham paired with cava.

In the Baqueira sector, Bar-Restaurante 2200 stands out for its circular architecture and views extending from the Val de Ruda to the Aneto. Its menu focuses on tapas and local Pyrenean products.

The Pàrrec d’Argulls serves as a strategic stop. Located in a transit area, it allows for a quick break with sandwiches, broths, or aperitifs before continuing to Bonaigua or returning to Baqueira.

In Bonaigua, the renovated Pàrrec de Bonaigua offers a quieter setting. Its terrace opens onto the Saboredo glacial cirque and the northern slope of the Parc Nacional d’Aigüestortes, featuring simple options like freshly made sandwiches in a spacious outdoor area.

Off-piste, the offerings expand. The Xocolateria Jolonch, at the Hotel Montarto, revives the tradition of artisan Agramunt chocolate in a warm indoor setting. In the Ruda commercial center, Häagen-Dazs Baqueira combines breakfasts, snacks, and ice cream with direct access to the gondola.

Holy Week with family

Families maintain their space at the end of the season. Baby Baqueira remains operational in Baqueira 1,500, 1,800, and Beret, with adapted areas where children combine play, indoor activities, and an introduction to skiing in a controlled environment.

This allows adults to organize their day with greater freedom while children develop their own snow experience.

Après-ski and atmosphere

At the end of the day, the atmosphere moves off-piste. In Orri, the Moët Winter Lounge is solidified as one of the most active spots, with live music and DJ sessions in an open setting.

At elevation 1,500, the Baqueira Bar 1,500 serves as an accessible meeting point, where skiers and visitors converge in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Stay slopeside

The Hotel Montarto allows direct access to the ski area from Baqueira 1,500. Beyond accommodation, it incorporates spaces designed to extend the experience.

The Bar Piano Montarto, on the ground floor, offers a quieter setting, open to both guests and visitors, for a drink at the end of the day.

Maintenance and season closing

During this final stretch, the resort also offers equipment tuning services at the Baqueira Store. Binding adjustments, edge sharpening, and waxing prepare skis and snowboards for the next season. The locker service for storing equipment during the summer is also maintained.

Trip organization

Baqueira Beret offers its Central Reservations to organize stays with packages combining accommodation and ski pass, specially designed for Holy Week and with varying durations.

The seasonal BaqueiraPASS can continue to be reloaded online or via the app, facilitating access for both holders and companions.
