With the arrival of the first significant snowfalls in central and southern Chile, two of the country's most iconic ski resorts—La Parva and Nevados de Chillán—have confirmed their official opening for this Tuesday, June 18, 2025. The news has been met with enthusiasm by snow lovers, who eagerly awaited the start of the winter season after weeks of variable weather.
Fresh snow and optimal conditions
Both centers have reported significant snow accumulations over the last week, with more than 50 cm of fresh snow at high altitudes. Temperatures have remained low, allowing for optimal compaction and preservation of the snowpack, ideal for skiing and snowboarding.
In La Parva, located just 50 km from Santiago, the main slopes will be open from day one, including areas for beginners, intermediates, and experts. The resort has worked hard on preparing access roads and ensuring slope safety.
Meanwhile, Nevados de Chillán, in the Ñuble Region, will not only feature groomed slopes but also its classic thermal center, offering a unique experience of sport and relaxation.
