Formigal and Baqueira: This Weekend's Successful Openings

The intense cold and recent snowfall allowed several ski resorts to open last week. This last weekend of November marked the season debuts at both Formigal, in Aragon, and Baqueira, located in the province of Lérida.

At the Aragonese resort, part of the Aramón Group, the winter season began this Saturday with an outstanding start, thanks to the presence of powder snow and optimal skiing conditions. From early morning, the slopes saw significant activity from skiers, drawn by the quality of the snowpack and the allure of the first major ski day of the year.

The day culminated at the Marchica après-ski, where its traditional Opening took place, this time featuring Juan Magán, a prominent figure in electro Latino music. His performance energized the crowd and marked an energetic start to the season.

Similarly, Baqueira — located in Val d’Aran and Valls d’Àneu — exceeded the 54 kilometers announced for the season opening and enjoyed a weekend characterized by magnificent snow, a clear winter day on Saturday, and some light snowfall on Sunday.

In total, the resort made approximately 70 kilometers available, of which 61 were perfectly groomed, along with 47 open slopes and all three main sectors in operation. Throughout the weekend, there was great activity on the slopes, driven by the high attendance of skiers motivated by an exceptionally favorable start to the season.
