Freeride World Tour Kicks Off Thursday in Baqueira Beret

The competition will take place on the iconic face of Tuc de Bacivèr, which returns to the circuit calendar for the first time since 2023 and will commence this Thursday, January 15th, in Baqueira Beret, after the organization has officially confirmed the dispute of the Baqueira Beret Pro by Movistar.

The Tuc de Bacivèr, with a maximum elevation of 2,644 meters, a vertical drop of 424 meters, and average slopes close to 40 degrees, is one of the most emblematic faces of the circuit. Its western orientation, unique within the FWT calendar, ensures optimal visibility for both judges and the public, while also facilitating television broadcasting. The terrain alternates between more fluid sections, ideal for creative lines, and technical, highly demanding sectors that require very precise mountain reading.

The designation of Thursday as race day is due to safety reasons and snowpack stability. After intense snowfall in recent days, with accumulations exceeding 80 centimeters, the snow has settled properly and presents a firm and safe base for freeriding, with no more favorable weather window anticipated in the coming days.

The event program includes the start of live broadcast at 12:00 CET, with the first rider scheduled to depart at 12:15 CET. The competition order will be: women's snowboard, men's snowboard, women's ski, and men's ski.

With a fully defined calendar and supposedly ideal weather, Baqueira Beret once again positions itself as one of the fundamental enclaves of international freeriding, thus hosting the start of a season that promises to be especially demanding from its very first event.
