The 24-year-old skier has his sights set on the Milano Winter Olympics and has started on the World Cup circuit in Ruka.
The Catalan athlete begins his participation in the World Cup circuit in Ruka (FIN) with the goal of reaching his peak form for the Milano-Cortina (ITA) 2026 Winter Olympic Games. His progression in recent years has been meteoric, and last season marked his true consolidation among the elite: he practically finished within the top 30 in every race, a performance that confirms the extraordinary form achieved by the national team's cross-country skier.
Just four seasons ago, he narrowly missed qualifying for the sprint finals, falling short by only +1.32. This year, he aims to change that outcome. He will have the opportunity to pursue a new milestone for Spanish sport in the Olympic Classic Sprint on February 10th, while the Team Sprint in freestyle is scheduled for the 18th.
The Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation has reinforced its commitment to cross-country skiing, especially in the sprint modality, where national talent grows season after season. Alongside the prominent case of Jaume Pueyo, other cross-country skiers are beginning to make their way into the World Cup circuit. Among them, Bernat Sellés (CEFCEN-FCEH) stands out, having already achieved a Top-14 in the Team Sprint with Pueyo at the Trondheim (NOR) World Championships and a Top-24 in the individual event in Ruka (FIN). Marc Colell (CEFUC-FCEH) has also participated in both the World Cup and the World Championships, while several athletes from MGSTZ-NKEF are working to follow in their teammates' footsteps and solidify the growth of Spanish cross-country skiing.
With all this, the season starts intensely and, consequently, with a packed calendar for the athletes of the RFEDI National Teams. One of the great novelties—and a firm Spanish bet for the World Cup and the Milano-Cortina Olympic Games—will be Jaume Pueyo (CEFUC-FCEH), who will begin his journey this weekend.
