Luz Ardiden Unveils Horizon 2027 Plan

The Luz Ardiden ski resort, in the heart of the French Pyrenees, has unveiled its Horizon 2027 Plan, a roadmap to progressively transform its infrastructure and solidify its position among the most modern and accessible domains in the mountain range. The project includes improvements in various areas of the complex, although one of the most significant actions will be the replacement of the Caperette chairlift, a fixed-grip quad chairlift that, due to its age, had become one of the most limiting points of the domain.

The renovation of this lift will streamline skier flow, reduce waiting times, and offer more convenient access to the mid-mountain area of the domain. With this, the resort aims to adapt to the demands of an increasingly diverse public, especially families and beginner skiers, for whom ease of movement and comfortable access are fundamental.

The Horizon 2027 Plan is conceived as a leap forward for Luz Ardiden, which aspires to strengthen its competitiveness in a context of constant changes in the ski industry and a growing need for technological modernization in lifts and mountain services.

The Caperette replacement project is integrated into the second axis of the plan's actions, focused on equipment modernization. The initiative contemplates the removal of the current chairlift and its replacement with a new generation lift, designed to address the constant increase in attendance experienced by the resort.

This intervention is accompanied by other improvements in the base area, including the expansion of the beginner area, which aims to become the most extensive in the Pyrenees. It also includes the updating of infrastructure for snow conservation, a joint effort aimed at optimizing the skiable domain and ensuring the opening of slopes even in unfavorable weather conditions.

For skiers, the replacement of the Caperette chairlift will mean a leap in comfort and efficiency. Skiers will benefit from a faster and more reliable lift, while families and beginners will enjoy easier access to the learning areas, which are being expanded and reorganized as part of the plan.

In addition, the intervention seeks to increase the resort's transport capacity, a factor that management identifies as one of the causes of the reduction in ski days sold per season. With these improvements, Luz Ardiden aims to offer a more fluid and attractive experience for all types of visitors.
