Mikaela Shiffrin Claims Victory at Flachau Night Slalom

Mikaela Shiffrin made history again with an extraordinary performance in the Flachau night slalom. The most decorated skier of all time achieved her 107th World Cup victory, led a one-two finish for the United States, and further cemented her legend under the night lights.

On an emotional night under the floodlights of the Hermann Maier track, the American not only secured the 100 points for victory but also led a one-two finish for the United States team, with Paula Moltzan securing a notable second place, 41 hundredths behind.

The podium was completed by local skier Katharina Truppe, who thrilled the thousands of Austrian fans present by finishing in third position, 65 hundredths off the best time.

Shiffrin, who already led the standings after the first run, built her victory on an extraordinary ability to react. Despite losing some tenths at the start of the second run due to uneven terrain, she managed to maintain decisive speed in the last two sections, which allowed her to secure the victory.

With this victory, Shiffrin's numbers place her in a territory virtually unreachable for any other athlete. The Colorado skier now reaches 107 World Cup victories, reinforcing an absolute record, 70 of which are in slalom events.

This success also represents her sixth victory on the always demanding Flachau stage, where she has achieved the podium in eleven consecutive appearances. These records establish her as the benchmark for the upcoming Winter Olympics and confirm an outstanding form, the result of specific work focused on managing high speeds in short turns.
