Ordino Arcalís: Closed Due to Exceptional Snowfall

Heavy snowfall, combined with intense wind gusts, has generated significant accumulations in various sectors that could compromise the condition of the slopes. Although the technical teams have worked on securing the most exposed areas, the exceptional nature of the meteorological situation does not allow for guaranteed safety throughout the day.

According to the managing company, most skiers accessing Ordino Arcalís do so using the Nordic Pass, a pass that also enables the use of Pal Arinsal facilities. In the case of users with a specific Ordino Arcalís pass, this will be reallocated for later use, either during the current season or even the next. Meanwhile, those with the Andorra Pass will be able to travel to ski at Grandvalira, without needing to make additional changes.

Regarding the reopening of Ordino Arcalís slopes, no specific date has been set yet, although forecasts suggest that activity could normalize by next weekend. Before then, a new snow front is expected, with snowfall starting at 1,200 meters, progressively descending to 900 meters of altitude.

This new episode could bring nearly half a meter of additional snow, adding to the almost 200 centimeters of maximum depth already accumulated at the resort.

The positive aspect of this prolonged and intense cycle of snowfall, affecting both the Pyrenees and the entire Iberian Peninsula, is that Ordino Arcalís will reach exceptional conditions for a historic milestone: the celebration of the first FIS Freeride World Championship, scheduled within a window between February 1 and 6, always subject to favorable weather conditions.
