With summer in full swing, Sierra Nevada looks ahead to winter. The resort activates a new investment cycle with 19 million Euros allocated to improve access, services, beginner areas, and operational efficiency. All under one objective: to continue growing thoughtfully.
The rhythm of the mountains doesn't stop in summer. While high-altitude routes and astronomical activities continue to attract visitors, in Sierra Nevada, machines are working to redraw winter. With an investment of 19 million euros, the resort is entering a new phase of modernization, aiming to reinforce its position as a reference point for skiing in Southern Europe.
The most visible intervention will be the complete renovation of the Nevasol restaurant, one of the historic on-piste establishments. Its original structure, dating from 1983, presented instability issues. The new building will maintain its function as a windbreak, allowing for safe use of the terrace, without losing functionality.
Another focus is in the Borreguiles area. Two new magic carpets for beginners will be installed there. They will replace and relocate some of the existing ones to optimize space and improve circulation. The result will be a closed area for ski initiation, more comfortable and safer for beginners and schools.
The renovation of the Zahareña reservoir, essential for snow production during critical seasons, is also progressing. In turn, the old Monte Bajo sports club will be converted into new Cetursa offices, freeing up key operational spaces in Prado Llano.
Since Juanma Moreno took over as Andalusian president, accumulated investment exceeds 100 million. Investing in more modern infrastructures with increased operational capacity and improved user experience. Visitor numbers and financial results from recent seasons endorse this path.
Meanwhile, the summer calendar remains active. The Virgen de las Nieves festivities, routes to Veleta or Laguna de las Yeguas, and the night opening of the gondola to observe the Perseids from 2,700 meters, connect the present with what is to come.
