Winter Season Preparations The winter season officially begins this week, and various ski resorts are finalizing preparations to commence operations.
With the arrival of the first storms and the noticeable drop in temperatures, most resorts on the peninsula will be ready to welcome skiers between late November and early December.
The Cantabrian resort, Alto Campo, will open its slopes and lifts today, Thursday the 27th, becoming the second on the Peninsula to start the season after Masella's opening. Alto Campo inaugurates the season this November 27th with 11.5 km of skiable terrain and various special launch promotions. The start coincides with the modernization efforts promoted by Cantur and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Sport.
The opening precedes that of Les Angles and Manzaneda—which will begin on Friday the 28th—positioning the resort as the second to open its doors in the 2025-2026 season, only behind Masella.
On the other hand, La Molina, a resort in La Cerdanya, will begin operations this Saturday, advancing the official start of the 2025-26 winter season. Recent snowfalls, along with low temperatures and the continuous work of technical teams, have allowed for the conditioning of 14 slopes featuring depths of 20 to 40 centimeters of powder snow. The opening, scheduled for November 29th, will also mark the start of the season for Pirineu365, the brand that groups the six FGC mountain resorts: La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Espot, Port Ainé, and Boí Taüll.
Also, Astún begins the season this weekend and Candanchú will do so on December 5th.
The Astún resort will open its facilities this Saturday and Sunday, offering 25 skiable kilometers with depths reaching 60 centimeters. Candanchú, for its part, will resume operations on December 5th, thus completing the full activation of the 100K ski area.
