Tamarack Kicks Off New Season with Ambition: New Slopes, Renewed Services

The mountain resort Tamarack has announced an ambitious series of enhancements and strategic interventions for the winter season, aimed at both environmental recovery and optimizing the visitor experience. These actions, ranging from the restoration of fire-damaged areas to the expansion of tourist infrastructure, solidify the resort as one of the most sustainable, comprehensive, and dynamic ski destinations in the United States.

As part of the post-fire restoration project, new trails have been incorporated south of Bliss, integrating ecological recovery with the expansion of the skiable area. Selective logging and forest clearing operations have focused on removing damaged or hazardous trees, reducing undergrowth, and promoting long-term ecosystem health. For the first time in several years, Tamarack has employed specialized Aebi cutters to trim vegetation on the most frequented trails—Serenity, Showtime, and Encore—which will allow for an early opening and higher quality surfaces throughout the winter.

The green run Waltz, the main route for beginners, has been significantly expanded with the goal of facilitating learning and technical progression for new skiers. Additionally, extra mobile snow cannons have been installed, ensuring uniform coverage and optimal conditions from the start of the season.

The Mid-Mountain Lodge, entering its second winter of operation, is solidifying its position as the epicenter of the experience at Tamarack Resort. This season introduces new dining options, live music performances, and a renovated terrace offering exceptional views of Cascade Lake. Among the most notable additions is the introduction of a mobile DJ Snowcat, which will be part of the après-ski and will travel to various areas of the mountain throughout the season, bringing itinerant music and entertainment to skiers and visitors.

In parallel, Nordic skiing is expanding its presence with a greater offering of rentals, lessons, and specialized programs, thus reinforcing the inclusive and multidisciplinary nature of the complex. The Tamarack sports school has moved to the heart of the village, offering greater accessibility to classes, rentals, and registrations. Additionally, this winter will see the opening of the Elevation Studio, a space dedicated to fitness and wellness, with yoga, mobility, and guided stretching activities.

Finally, the winter resort is expanding its alternative accommodation options with the enablement of new camping areas in Aspen, which include 10 spacious spots for Class A and C RVs, plus 4 smaller spaces for Sprinter vans or Class B campers, thus offering flexible and sustainable options for visitors seeking a more direct connection with nature.
