The mountains are already preparing for a new ski season. These are the confirmed opening dates for the resorts.
Nearing November, the cold is already palpable, and the mountains are beginning to change their hues. Snow canons are being prepared, and the air carries that indescribable scent of snow. We are almost there: the 2025/26 ski season is just around the corner… Finally!
Between late November and mid-December, the main resorts in Spain, Andorra, and the French Pyrenees will reopen their doors, marking the start of a new season. Some have already confirmed their dates, while others are still awaiting snow conditions and colder temperatures.
As every year, the first to break the ice will be the calendar's pioneers. Baqueira Beret, in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees, inaugurates the season on November 29, accompanied by Sierra Nevada, which will also kick off that same day from the peaks of Granada. In Galicia, Manzaneda will open a day earlier, on November 28, giving the green light to winter further west on the peninsula.
In Andorra, the three domains—Grandvalira, Pal-Arinsal, and Ordino-Arcalís—will begin their season on December 5, although they do not rule out moving it forward if snow arrives earlier. In the Iberian System, Valdelinares will open on December 6, while Javalambre will wait until December 20.
In the Cantabrian Mountains, San Isidro and Valle de Laciana-Leitariegos expect to open their slopes on December 1, while the Asturian resorts, Valgrande-Pajares and Fuentes de Invierno, aim for nearby dates, between November 29 and December 3, always depending on the weather.
On the other side of the Pyrenees, the French calendar outlines a staggered start: Luz Ardiden will be the first to welcome skiers on November 29; Font-Romeu and Saint-Lary will follow on December 5; Ax-les-Thermes and Peyragudes, on December 6; and Les Angles will open on December 10.
In the Aragonese Pyrenees, resorts such as Cerler, Formigal, Panticosa, Astún, and Candanchú still have their plans on hold, awaiting a snowfall that will mark the definitive start of the season.
