Peak Performance x WeiTien Ho: Designing to Move with the Mountain

The Swedish brand presents Ridge Ace, a three-layer system developed alongside professional freerider WeiTien Ho. A collaboration that combines technical innovation, freedom of movement, and a signature aesthetic, with the mountain as its starting point.

In freeride, performance begins long before dropping in. It lies in freedom of movement, the confidence each garment instills, and the ability to adapt to terrain that is never quite the same. Grounded in this premise, Peak Performance introduces Ridge Ace by WeiTien Ho, a limited-edition collection exploring the intersection of technical engineering and personal expression.

The concept emerges from a collaboration with WeiTien Ho, a brand team professional skier, Whistler-based freerider, and art enthusiast. Renowned for his relaxed style on skis, Ho was involved throughout the creative and development process, from initial sketches to real-world testing. The objective: to create kit capable of answering the demands of big mountain riding without compromising on a distinctive silhouette both on and off the snow.

“The silhouette matters. When I feel good, I perform even better,” explains Ho. This ethos guided the development of a kit that prioritizes a relaxed cut, mobility, and functionality. To test its performance, the skier wore it throughout last season on the Freeride World Tour, subjecting it to a full year of competition.

The result translates into rounded cutlines inspired by the perfect ski turn, a tonal color palette, and bespoke details crafted specifically for this collaboration. It is an approach to mountain gear where design is not an afterthought, but an integral part of the on-snow experience.

HIPE® ACE: Technology for Unpredictable Terrain

The name Ridge Ace evokes exposed ridges and the shifting conditions of the backcountry, where wind, snow, and fluctuating temperatures are all part of the line. To meet these demands, the kit incorporates HIPE® ACE, Peak Performance's highest-performing waterproof technology to date.

The jacket and pants are engineered with a three-layer construction combining a lightweight 70D ripstop fabric with a waterproof and breathable membrane rated at 20,000 mm and 20,000 g/m²/24h, respectively. The result is a system engineered to balance weather protection, breathability, and freedom of movement.

Functionality is embedded in every detail: zippered vents for temperature regulation, YKK AquaGuard® zippers, a helmet-compatible hood, quick-access pockets, and a RECCO® reflector to aid search and rescue operations. The bib pants also feature a pocket with an ARVA loop, along with snow gaiters and adjustable suspenders.

The collection is crafted without intentionally added PFAS, aligning with the brand’s commitment to engineering technical gear for the most demanding conditions.

Two Pieces, One Philosophy

The Ridge Ace HIPE® ACE 3L shell jacket features a relaxed silhouette and a construction engineered to follow movement without restriction. Its adjustable hood, detachable snow skirt, and front vents allow the piece to adapt across the day’s varying intensities.

The bib pants complete the system with an articulated cut, adjustable waist, and mid-leg vents. The bubble pockets provide easy access to gear on the go, while dedicated details for safety equipment cater to the demands of off-piste skiing.

Beyond their performance, both pieces share a singular aesthetic direction: generous volumes, clean lines, and a construction where every element serves both function and design intent.

A collaboration that illustrates how an athlete’s insight can shape the evolution of mountain gear: from the performance demanded by the terrain to how we choose to move and express ourselves within it.

The Ridge Ace by WeiTien Ho kit will be available starting November 12 at select stores and on the
